Cooking nights at Sur La Table in Newport Beach and Carlsbad celebrate food, creativity, and connection.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — LIGHT, a Southern California lighting and controls manufacturer’s representative agency, partnered with lighting manufacturer Bover to host Spanish-inspired cooking nights at Sur La Table in Newport Beach and Carlsbad. The gatherings brought clients from the architecture and design community together for evenings of hands-on learning, shared meals, and conversation.
Guests learned to prepare Spanish paella and flan while enjoying Spanish wines and a Spanish-themed charcuterie board. Working together in the kitchen gave attendees an opportunity to learn something new, connect with industry peers, and strengthen relationships with the LIGHT and Bover teams.

The events were hosted by Bover Regional Sales Manager Beverly Dahl alongside LIGHT sales representatives Dan Lehouillier and Delwyn Prendergast. LIGHT Principal Pete DeSoto also joined the Carlsbad gathering.
In Newport Beach, attendees included landscape architects from David Volz Design, lighting designers from The Ruzika Company and Nikolakopulos, Inc., and a designer from JRMA Architects. The Carlsbad evening welcomed lighting designers from Syska Hennessy Group and designers from Solomon Design Group.

The Spanish-inspired menu offered a welcoming connection to Bover’s heritage while creating space for the design community to spend time together beyond their daily design projects. From preparing paella to learning the finishing touches of flan, the evenings centered on a shared experience that encouraged connection beyond the office task list.
Bover’s passion for “Creating objects that not only illuminate but also create more pleasant and healthy environments” translates into creating deeper connections with people, understanding their creativity, and bringing a healthy environment through events like these.

Through these gatherings, LIGHT and Bover continue to nurture the relationships that support their work with Southern California’s design community. Bringing people together through creativity, hospitality, and a shared seat at the table.
